Make sure that your soil does not retain too much water or your mangave roots will not be able to aerate and will rot. Cactus or succulents commercial soil mix will work fine. Mangave “Pineapple Express” needs very poor, well-draining soil, with at least 50 percent of coarse material such as pine bark, sand, or perlite. It will grow faster if you leave it outside in a sunny spot in the garden or on the balcony during the summer.
When grown indoors, this mangave grows fairly slowly. If the conditions are good, your Mangave ”Pineapple Express” will grow to fifteen inches, with its rosette spreading to 18 inches. Mangave prefers desert conditions with dry air, so make sure the humidity in the room where your mangave lives is fairly low. Do not let the temperature drop below 60☏ (16☌). It should not be watered until the soil is completely dry. This mangave needs poor, very well-draining soil. At home, if you cannot provide six hours of full sun and bright light, supplement it with a grow-light or a fluorescent lamp.
